Co Armagh residents 'disgusted' by arson attack on car and property in village
Residents in a Co Armagh village are "disgusted" after an arson attack on a car and property in the area last week.
On Monday, November 4, the arson attack occurred in the Moss Row area of Darkley and the damage, including the burnt out car, remains at the scene. It's understood the vehicle will be removed later today, with a clean up of the area by the local council to follow.
Local SDLP councillor, Thomas O'Hanlon, took to social media to share an image of the scene to update residents, and said those in the village are "absolutely disgusted this happened in their area."

He added: "Over the last week I have been working with the residents of Moss Row, Darkley in relation to the removal of this burnt out vehicle. I’ve liased between residents, Council and the PSNI.
"It’s hoped this will be removed tomorrow [Friday]. A clean up of the area by council will follow.
"It’s important to highlight this incident is being investigated by the PSNI, however let me be categorically clear, this is absolutely nothing to do with the good people of Darkley. Local residents are absolutely disgusted that this has happened in their area.
"I’ll be meeting with the police in relation to this incident and seeking assurances that those behind this will be caught and held accountable. This is not Darkley and nothing to do with the people of Darkley."
A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “Police in Armagh are investigating the report of a suspected arson attack at Moss Row, Darkley, on Monday 4th November.
“It was reported shortly before midnight that a car, which was parked in the street, had been set alight, totally destroying the car and also damaging two nearby homes and another parked car.
"The investigation is ongoing and officers would ask anyone with any information or dash-cam/CCTV footage which may be of assistance with their enquiries to contact them in Armagh on 101, quoting reference number 1870 04/11/24.”
