Co-op burglars loot tills in 2.50am raid

Burglars have got inside a Co-op and swiped cash from the tills in an early-morning raid. Now detectives are investigating the break-in at the Congleton shop - and have urged witnesses to come forward.

As reported by StokeonTrentLive a cordon went up around the Bromley Road store with a marked patrol car at the scene this morning.

Cheshire Police have now confirmed cops were called to the scene at 2.50am to reports of a burglary. Officers found that 'unknown offenders' had gained access to the shop and stolen a 'quantity of cash' from the tills. Detectives are keen to hear from anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage.

Detective Sergeant Laura Fox said: "We appreciate this incident occurred during the very early hours of the morning, but we would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or noticed anything suspicious either before or after the incident. The same goes for anyone who may have captured anything relevant on CCTV, video doorbell, or dashcam footage."
