Coast Guard Rescues Tourists Stranded by High Tide at Oregon State Park

Two tourists were rescued by the US Coast Guard at Indian Beach, in Ecola State Park, on May 19 after they became trapped by the high tide.

The tourists, a woman and a man, were hoisted by a helicopter crew from the Coast Guard Sector Columbia River and brought for medical assessment.

The woman, who was being hit by waves, was hoisted first. Her companion was then hoisted. He had managed to climb onto some rocks, where he had become stranded.
