Coatbridge man found with two illegal stun guns placed under supervision for 18 months
A Coatbridge man found with two illegal stun guns has been placed under social work supervision for 18 months.
One of the taser devices was discovered in Alan Dunion's jacket, which he had left behind in a police car.
Officers, worried for his welfare, had given him a lift home.
Dunion, 28, of Lavelle Drive, appeared from custody at Airdrie Sheriff Court this week.
He admitted possession of the stun guns on April 1 while on bail for another matter.
Flora McCamley, prosecuting, said officers went to Bank Street about 3am after a caller raised concerns about a person.

She told the court: "The officers found Dunion and offered to take him home.
"He left his jacket in the police car and when the officers discovered this at the end of their shift they went back to his address to return it.
"They noted there was something heavy in the jacket pocket and recovered a taser.

"A search warrant was then granted for the accused's home and another taser was found in a set of drawers in his bedroom."
Dunion had been held in custody since his arrest in May and Sheriff Paul Haran said he was willing to place him under supervision rather than impose more jail time.
