Coatbridge residents told to close windows after SECOND chemical spill
Police have cordoned off an industrial estate in Coatbridge after reports of a SECOND chemical leak in just over a week.
Officers are currently on the scene at the Northburn Industrial Estate in the Cameron Street area where last week four people were treated by paramedics after a separate chemical spill caused an evacuation on Tuesday, November 5.
Police say there are no reported injuries and assured there is "no risk to the wider public".
A cordon has been put in place and nearby residents are being asked to keep their windows closed while the substance is dealt with.
In a statement shared to social media, a spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers are in attendance with partners at the Northburn Industrial Estate in the Cameron Street area of Coatbridge following a report of a chemical leak.
"There are no reported injuries and no risk to the wider public.
"A cordon has been put in place and nearby residents are asked to keep their windows closed while the substance is dealt with."
