Cobra Kai season three spoilers follow.

Cobra Kai is getting ready for its third season, it will have 10 episodes and they will all air on the same day when the show returns to Netflix on January 1, 2021.

The Karate Kid sequel's new season will see Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do trying to deal with the aftermath of the violent incident which ended with Miguel Diaz (played by Xolo Maridueña) in hospital.

One character who won't be returning to the dojo is Aisha (played by Nichole Brown) — the actress announced the news on her Instagram last year by writing: "Officially NOT in Season 3 of #CobraKai… Unfortunate, but thank you for the opportunity and time I had on the show."

In a recent interview with TV Line, executive producer and co-showrunner Jon Hurwitz, confirmed that Aisha will not be in the upcoming season and that her exit has been written into the season premiere.

"Certain characters we loved in Season 1 didn't appear at all in Season 2, like Kyler, Yasmine and Louie," he said.

"Before the season, we told Nichole the same thing we told those actors: That just because a character doesn't appear for a period of time doesn't mean they've left the universe, that they can't return again. We love that character, and perhaps we'll see her again one day."

The character of Aisha first appeared in Cobra Kai as Samantha LaRusso's (played by Mary Mouser) estranged childhood friend. When she met Miguel, she decided to attend Cobra Kai with him and she became Johnny Lawrence's (played by William Zabka) second student.

Josh Heald, fellow executive producer and co-showrunner explained: "We have a long story left to tell. We tend to look at the show in a very long view, where entrances and exits are impactful and important. Sometimes people need to exit to make their [re-entry] a little bit different and bigger."

Cobra Kai season three will be available to stream on Netflix from January 1, 2021.
