Coca-Cola Christmas advert viewers have been left furious and issuing the same complaint - as Santa is replaced in a huge change for 2024. The Coca-Cola advert has left viewers fuming this year because the whole advert has been produced without humans.

A hand reaching out with a bottle of Coke Zero is generated by AI. "They appear to have eliminated Santa from the adverts" said one person on X. "The new Coke Christmas advert being made entirely by AI isn’t very Christmassy," fumed another viewer.

Another added: "Anyone noticed the new holidays are coming cokeacola [sic] advert is made with AI…. I’m fuming!? And it looks utter s*** not even like… good AI?? surely it’s a hoax or a prank or they’re tryna prove something. If not I am outraged!"

And another raged on social media in the wake of the advert being released ahead of the festive rush on December 25: "Every year we always wait to see “Holidays Are Coming” Coca‑Cola Christmas advert that's been playing since 1995.

"It's a classic and so nostalgic! I read on their website, they've given it an AI reinterpretation. Why must AI ruin all media?" Chipping in themselves, another viewer rushed to slam the ad and sniped: "Coca Cola remade its most iconic line of holiday commercials into AI.

"I used to love seeing these ads every year I’m sorry , Grinch, take it away." A Coca-Cola spokesman told The Independent: "Coca-Cola’s exciting venture into AI-generated storytelling demonstrates Coca-Cola’s commitment to embracing innovation, leveraging our collaborations with top creative and technology partners, while staying true to its core values: spreading happiness and creating real magic!”

The advert first arrived on screens in 1995 and in the original ad, three real 40ft trucks were used, weighing two tonnes each and covered with 30,000 light bulbs, according to Coca-Cola.
