Colchester crash involving cyclist and car leaves pensioner seriously injured
An elderly man has been seriously injured after a crash involving a car and a cyclist in Colchester. Emergency services were called to the scene on Saturday (October 26) following reports of a traffic collision on Nayland Road.
Officers from Essex Police and ambulance colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service Trust both attended the scene. They rushed to the incident after being alerted to it just before 5pm.
The injured man, in his 80s, was taken to hospital where he currently remains. He is now in a stable condition.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called just before 5pm on Saturday with reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Nayland Road and Fords Lane in Colchester involving a car and a cyclist. An ambulance was sent to the scene. One patient, an adult male, was transported to Colchester Hospital for further care."
