Cold Feet cast respond to shock romance twist for fan-favourites
Even the cast of Cold Feet were surprised by the romance twist for two of the show's fan-favourite characters.
Episode three of season eight included a scene where Adam (James Nesbitt) and Karen (Hermione Norris) shared a kiss.
The two old friends might have been off their heads on 'herbal cigarettes', but that didn't stop the cast being taken aback by the scene.

Speaking to The Radio Times, John Thomson, who plays Pete on the show, said: “It was the whole cast – we were like whaaaa! It was a big number really. It was a shock."
Asked if the storyline affected the cast members as much as the characters, he added: “Totally. We’re like family; we care about the project because we have been involved with it for so long.”
Norris, meanwhile, was wary of the new storyline, emphasising her protectiveness over the character she's played for 21 years.
“Who knew? Certainly not me,” she said. "I signed up to this series 21 years ago. And that’s the odd thing: I play Karen Marsden in Cold Feet and Mike Bullen is my puppeteer. It’s quite an emotional thing: because you have played a character for a long time, you care deeply about the character, as their protector and champion.”
Nesbitt also admitted he was surprised by the kiss, but urged fans to consider the context of the scene.
“The very fact that they might share a kiss, whatever that’s borne out of and whatever state they are in, yeah it was pretty shocking," he said. "Because that’s something an audience might… be thinking, ‘Well I wasn’t expecting that’."
Cold Feet continues next Monday (February 4) at 9pm on ITV.
