Cold Feet confirmed for an 8th series in 2018

Cold Feet will return for an eighth series next year – ITV has confirmed.

The popular show has proved such a hit with viewers since it was rebooted in 2016 following a 13-year absence that bosses have re-commissioned another instalment for 2018.

The new six-part series will go into production next spring in Manchester and the main cast, James Nesbitt (Adam Williams), Hermione Norris (Karen Marsden), Robert Bathurst (David Marsden), Fay Ripley (Jenny Gifford) and John Thomson (Pete Gifford), will all return.

Senior drama commissioner Victoria Fea said: “The nation’s love affair with Cold Feet continues, and we’re thrilled to announce a new series for 2018.”

The seventh season concluded two weeks ago and saw Adam Williams (James Nesbitt) split from his girlfriend Tina Reynolds (Leanne Best) after admitting he’d had an affair with his colleague Sarah Poynter (Amy Huberman).

The new series of Cold Feet will air in 2018.

The show’s writer Mike Bullen explained: “I’m delighted that viewers still feel invested in the lives and loves of our imperfect heroes.

“And I’m excited that we’re being given the opportunity to tell the next chapter of their stories.

“We’ve got plenty of trials and tribulations in store for them as they navigate their way through middle age, and more than a few laughs and tears along the way.”

The script for the new series has already been written and Big Talk Production – who are producing – have teased that the new instalment is not one to be missed.

Kenton Allen, executive producer and CEO of Big Talk Productions, said: “It was a real privilege for Big Talk to be entrusted with the revival of Cold Feet, a show we were all huge fans and admirers of.

“So, we are absolutely thrilled to be making a third series of this iconic show, following the amazing reaction to the last series. Mike has just delivered the first script of the new series and … all will be revealed in 2018.”
