'Cold and Stormy' Weather Sweeps Western Nevada Bringing 'Widespread Travel Difficulties'

“Cold and stormy” weather that swept into western Nevada on Wednesday, February 22, will cause “widespread travel difficulties” for several more days, the National Weather Service (NWS) warned.

The NWS said the winter weather would continue through the end of February and told residents to: “Anticipate several rounds of snow at all elevations, leading to widespread travel difficulties, especially in the Sierra. Period of enhanced winds will make it feel that much colder.”

The NWS in Reno warned “Travel could be very difficult to impossible, including the morning and evening commute.”
