Coldplay, one of the world's most popular bands, is set to perform in Hull. The chart-topping group has revealed plans for two shows at Sewell Group Craven Park, home of Hull Kingston Rovers, as part of their upcoming global tour.

The British rock band, who headlined Glastonbury earlier this year, will take to the stage in East Hull on August 18th and 19th before six scheduled performances at Wembley Stadium. It has been confirmed that only Hull and London will host the band's European shows next year.

This is a significant achievement for both the city and Hull KR. Over the weekend, they announced plans to expand the stadium due to increasing demand for membership sales.

Coldplay is famous for their live performances, often selling out some of the largest venues worldwide. They have received nine Brit awards, produced 18 top 10 UK hits, and headlined numerous festivals during their successful career, reports Hull Live.

The Paradise singers are currently on a world tour that began in 2022. The Music of the Spheres Tour kicked off in Costa Rica and will travel to New Zealand later this year.

However, the addition of new dates confirms another extension to the tour, with Hull joining some of the world's biggest cities in hosting the band on their eighth concert tour.

Coldplay enthusiasts can secure early access to gig tickets by pre-ordering the band's forthcoming album, Moon Music, from the official Coldplay UK or EU Stores. More information can be found at store.coldplay.com. Those who pre-order the album will automatically qualify for the presale, kicking off on Thursday, September 26 at 9am BST.

Tickets will go on general sale at 9am BST on Friday, September 27.
