Coldplay To Honour Viola Beach During Their Glastonbury Set

Coldplay will reportedly pay tribute to Viola Beach when they headline Glastonbury at the end of June.

The band Viola Beach - comprised of members Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe and Jack Dakin - and their manager, Craig Tarry, tragically died in February in Sweden after their car plunged off a bridge.

It’s now thought that Coldplay will play a cover of one of the Manchester band’s songs when they close Glastonbury on the Sunday night, while photos of Viola Beach are projected on big screens.

Speaking about dedication, a source told The Sun: “Coldplay always support upcoming bands and the news of Viola Beach’s sudden death hit them all hard as fellow musicians.

“They want to use the Pyramid Stage to honour the lads.”

A memorial gig was recently held for the band in their hometown of Warrington, with the Kooks, the Zutons and The Coral amongst those performing in tribute.

Several musicians, including Liam Gallagher and Kasabian, paid tribute to the band when the tragic news was announced, with stars supporting a campaign to get their single, ‘Swings & Waterslides’ into the charts.
