Coleen Nolan has commended her Loose Women colleague and friend Ruth Langsford for the dignified manner in which she's dealing with her split from Eamonn Holmes. The couple, who were married for 14 years, made headlines in May when they announced their divorce proceedings.

Despite the shock, a spokesperson stated that Ruth, 64, and Eamonn are intent on maintaining an amicable relationship and remaining friends. While Ruth has kept quiet about the breakup, Eamonn expressed gratitude to his supporters on GB News shortly after the announcement.

Rumours have since linked him with Katie Alexander, as Ruth concentrates on her professional life. Four months after the separation, Coleen shared: "Ruth and I keep in touch all the time. She's back at work now, which is great because I really missed her."

She added, "I don't want to say too much because it's not my business to say Ruth's life, but what I will say from a friend's point of view is, I've never met anyone that has handled something with so much dignity and pride."

Coleen admired Ruth's elegance, contrasting it with her own openness, saying, "She's just such a lady, more of a lady then I'll ever be, I would've spilled my guts right now - as I do, that's my problem, I say too much. She's been absolutely amazing, she really has."

Coleen also mentioned offering advice to Ruth about handling the situation, which Ruth did not take.

"I've given her advice but she doesn't listen to me, I'm going, 'How can you not say anything? ' But I don't need to give her advice," she disclosed to Woman Magazine.

The television presenter also shared how she remains a steady presence in Ruth's life: "I just love her and I'm in awe of how she's handled everything."

Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, who got hitched in 2010, have a son Jack, aged 22, together, while Eamonn also has three grown-up kids from his first marriage.

In the wake of their separation, they've both kept on wearing their wedding bands.

When asked by someone on social media about why they still wear their rings, Ruth gave a straightforward response: "Because I'm still married."

Reports suggest Ruth continues to live in the family home in Surrey, with Eamonn now renting an apartment in London, close to where GB News is located.
