Coleen Nolan has opened up about how best friend and Loose Women co-star Ruth Langsford, 64, is coping since her split with Eamonn Holmes.

Coleen was full of praise for Ruth not just as a presenter, but as a human being and how she has handled her divorce.

She said: "Ruth is one of my best friends. Me and Ruth are always texting and phoning, and if the show ended tomorrow, I know we’d still be friends."

Speaking about the split with Eamonn, Coleen added: "She’s been amazing. I’m not one to give advice, but I’ve just been there when she’s wanted to vent or wanted to just talk about it. I really admire her, she’s been so classy through the whole thing and just got on with it.

“She’s also had such a glow-up. She looks better than I think I’ve seen her in years, she looks like she’s lost 10 years. Not that she didn’t look great before, but now she looks fabulous and she’s working really hard and she’s just getting on with it."

Earlier this month, it was reported the pair were going to help each other after both experiencing mutual heartbreak after the end of Coleen’s relationship with Michael Jones.

Coleen herself has had to deal with the heartbreaking loss of her sister Linda last week. The singer died at the age of just 65 from secondary breast cancer and was surrounded by family and friends as she passed away.

Speaking to the Mirror about her painful loss, Coleen said she and her sisters Anne, 74, Denise, 72, and Maureen, 69, were there for Linda in her final moments. She said: “My daughter Ciara and I sat with her and we said everything we needed to say to each other.

"She told us how much she loved us and we told her we loved her. I think she knew it would be the last time she'd see us, but there were no tears.

“Although she had double pneumonia and was on oxygen, she was cracking jokes, being her usual funny self and eating the chocolate people had brought her. She wanted to hear about my new grandson and I showed her lots of photos of him.”

During the conversation, Coleen also revealed the tragic final words Linda said to her as she left the room for what would be the final time.

"When I left that evening, I told her I'd come and visit the next day and she said, "Oh, you don't have to" and I said, "I know, but I will" and then she said, 'Col, I really love you',” revealed the TV presenter.

Following her death, Coleen has revealed details of her sister’s funeral, one which will be inspired by her time in showbusiness and that her coffin would avoid the usual tradition of being coloured black.

Coleen said: “Her coffin is pure showbiz – bright pink and sparkly, just as she wanted. The one thing my sister loved was bling – her trainers had bling on them, her handbags, her tops, her walking stick – so it feels right that she has a glittery pink coffin.”
