Coleen Rooney, the spouse of ex-Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney, has reportedly signed up for ITV’s I’m A Celebrity.

The 38 year old has been in the spotlight recently due to her high-profile libel case, known as Wagatha Christie, with fellow footballer’s wife Rebekah Vardy. According to The Sun, Rooney is set to jet off to Australia next month to participate in the ITV reality show hosted by Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. "Any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! are just speculation," an ITV spokesperson commented.

This news comes shortly after Vardy was instructed to pay Rooney an additional £100,000 following her High Court loss against Rooney in 2022. This came after Rooney accused Vardy of leaking her private details to the press on social media – this week marks five years since the viral post at the centre of the controversy.

Vardy was later told to cover 90% of Rooney’s fees, with an initial payment of £800,000. However, this week senior costs judge Andrew Gordon-Saker ordered Vardy to pay a further £100,000 to Rooney within 21 days.

The Sun suggests that ITV bosses are hoping Rooney will disclose more about her dispute with Vardy, as well as her life with Wayne and their four sons. Last year, the couple launched their first documentary series titled Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story which followed her High Court battle with Vardy on Disney+.

Vardy took part in I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2017, and was the third contestant to be voted off. Representatives for Rooney have been approached for a response.
