Coleen Rooney has responded to Rebekah Vardy's recent interview with ITV's Loose Women, saying in a statement that she has "nothing to add".

In her first live appearance since the so-called 'Wagatha Christie' scandal last year, Rebekah told yesterday's (February 13) Loose Women that claims she had been selling stories to the press were "really hard" to deal with.

In the emotional interview, Rebekah told the panel: "It was up there with one of the worst things I've had to deal with – apart from being abused... when I was younger.

"I had severe anxiety attacks," she added. "I ended up in hospital three times. I had kidney stones. I felt I couldn't go out without people questioning if I did it."

Now, a spokesperson for Coleen has issued a statement on her behalf. "Coleen has nothing to add to what she has already said," it reads (via Metro.co.uk).

"She remains confident in the legal process and sees no reason to take the numerous opportunities that have been offered to engage in further public debate in this matter."

Coleen and Rebekah's now-infamous feud began last year, when the wife of footballer Wayne Rooney claimed in an Instagram post that she'd muted all of her followers from seeing – apart from one.

She then claimed that she had posted a number of false stories to see if they appeared in the news, before saying Rebekah's account was the one she thought was responsible. Rebekah, who was heavily pregnant at the time, denied the claims.

"As I have just said to you on the phone, I wish you had called me if you thought this," Vardy responded at the time. "I never speak to anyone about you as various journalists who have asked me over the years can vouch for."

She then added: "I'm not being funny but I don't need the money, what would I gain from selling stories on you?... I'm disgusted that I even have to deny this."
