'It's been s**t' - Coleen Rooney breaks silence on husband Wayne and says he hasn't learned from 'all of his selfish mistakes'

She has remained silent up until now about her husband’s drink-driving incident with party girl Laura Simpson.

But Coleen Rooney has finally spoken out about her nine-year union to Wayne Rooney following the incident, admitting it has been a “s**t time” and that she thought her “marriage might have been at an end”.

The mother-of-three – who shares three kids, Kai, eight, Klay, four, and 21-month-old Kit with the Everton footballer – also blasted him for failing to learn from some of his “silly and selfish mistakes”, but insists she is determined to make their marriage work.

Wayne was caught drink-driving in party girl Laura’s car in September, and afterwards she was quoted as saying they enjoyed a “kiss and a cuddle” but later went on to deny she’d said such a thing.

In an honest 692-word Facebook post to her 910,000 followers, Coleen wrote: “Before all the stories begin, Yes, I have put my wedding ring on……. A lot of people will be saying “you don’t have to explain yourself, don’t feel like you have to do this” etc,I know I don’t, but I am and I want to.

“It didn’t feel right wearing my ring, I see it as a sign of commitment and I was unsure what was happening. I don’t always wear my ring day to day, especially when I go the gym which is where I get stalked by paps each morning. So, if I don’t always have it on, maybe it’s just because am going the gym or haven’t put it on before the school run!!

“A few people have been feeling sorry for me, please don’t. I appreciate getting cared about, however, I am a strong person, I don’t feel sorry for myself. Also a few people are probably thinking am stupid for staying in my marriage. I am not stupid, I know my own mind and it’s something I want to try and work on.

“Before the headlines start…. No, I’m not taking Wayne back as he’s never left. Yes, it has been a s**t time, and yes, time was spent apart and I thought my marriage might have been at an end. (sic)”

Coleen admitted Wayne is a “brilliant dad” in her Facebook post.

Coleen insisted the former England captain is a “brilliant dad” but refused to say anything else positive about her husband because she said he “doesn’t deserve it” at the moment.

In the frank statement, she added: “I’m not going to list his good qualities as a person as I don’t think he deserves it at this time but one thing is that he is a brilliant dad. He’s made silly and selfish mistakes, some he’s learnt from, some obviously not. However maybe that will change?

“In life, you don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. But one thing I do know is that too much alcohol on a night out is a dangerous and a lot of stupid mistakes are made and things are said under the influence.

“I would never trust ANYONE who has had a lot of alcohol, it changes some people drastically. (sic)”

Coleen admitted she would be “fine on [her] own” with the couple’s three kids but insisted she does “love Wayne” and is determined to try to make her nine-year marriage work.

She added: “To answer a lot of people, not everything in our life is money related. People think when you earn a lot of money everything is fine, yes there are advantages, but this isn’t everything in life and it’s doesn’t always make people happy.

“People are everything, and people are what make me the happiest in life. We surround ourselves with friends and family who are genuine, kind and caring people.

“It’s my decision …. do I love Wayne … yes I do. If I didn’t then I wouldn’t be trying to make it work. I know I would be fine on my own, with just me and my children, but I don’t want to live like that, I want to try and continue our marriage and live as a family, because that’s what I want to do.

“I’m not saying everything is fine and forgotten about, but we are as good as can be at this point, I’m not the type of person to put a show on and say we’re all loved-up….I’m just real. (sic)”

It was recently reported the pair were set to renew their wedding vows next year in what would be their 10th anniversary year.
