A stab victim is fighting for life after reportedly staggering into a McDonald’s to seek refuge following a knife attack in north London.

Police officers were called to the fast food restaurant by the A5 road in Colindale at about 6.40pm on Monday, following reports of a stabbing.

The victim, thought to be in his twenties, was treated by the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.

A huge cordon was thrown up around the McDonald’s, at the junction of Colindeep Lane and Zenith Close, after customers were reportedly evacuated.

Witnesses said the man had been attacked in a nearby estate before fleeing into the restaurant.

One told the Daily Star: "I was sitting inside and heard all these police sirens. I saw two cops running into the McDonalds with stunned people crowding outside," they said.

"Then the air ambulance came down and the paramedics ran to help.

"This happened in broad daylight. It's horrific. I was told the person was stabbed on our estate and then ran across the toad and stumbled into the McDonalds.

"The whole area is now taped off waiting for forensics. We can't get in or out.

"Two years ago there was another stabbing here and the guy died. People don't feel safe anymore."

There have been no arrests.
