Combined Wildfires Billow Smoke Over Northern New Mexico

Massive smoke clouds were seen in northern New Mexico, as wildfires continued to burn and red flag warnings remained in place for parts of the state on Tuesday, May 10.

This timelapse footage taken by Jackson Mathey shows billowing smoke near Santa Fe.

“The Calf Canyon Fire hit a massive pocket of fuel,” Mathey wrote on Instagram.

The Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon wildfires had spread 203,920 acres (319 square miles) and were at 39 percent containment as of May 10, according to local fire reports.
