Come Together boss wants Beyoncé and Oasis for Newcastle's 'biggest ever festival' on Town Moor
It's an event that has already attracted Robbie Williams and Kings of Leon to its line-up and the man behind Come Together, being billed as Newcastle's 'biggest ever festival,' is going big with his ambitions for the future too. And the names on his hit list of acts include music legends Beyoncé, Paul McCartney and Oasis.
There was great excitement in the autumn when it was announced that Come Together would be taking over the Town Moor, on the outskirts of Newcastle city centre and famous, in June 2025; with the location most famous for hosting The Hoppings every year. being transformed into festival haven, with two stages of live music, local food and drink vendors and plenty of photo opps.
Then came the big news that Robbie Williams would be the first headliner, with the ex Take That star turned solo global icon kicking things off on June 4, topping a bill that also includes Kaiser Chiefs, South Shields' own Perrie Edwards and Andrew Cushin, the Newcastle musician who has been making waves across the world in the last two years.

Not long after tickets went on sale for Robbie, another big name act was unveiled, in the shape of Sex on Fire and Use Somebody rockers Kings of Leon, the Tennessee band who sold out St James' Park in 2014; with excitement also palpable over their return to the Toon.
And now, Toby Leighton-Pope, the managing director of TEG Europe, the company behind Come Together, who were responsible for Girls Aloud's massive 2024 arena tour and also recently announced Busted V McFly dates that sold out as soon as they went on sale; has gone public with the calibre of artists he wants to bring in for what he hopes will be an event that becomes a regular fixture in Newcastle's live music calendar.
Speaking to ChronicleLive this week, Toby said: "I want to bring huge global stars to Newcastle - Beyoncé, Oasis, Paul McCartney - that is where we want to take the festival. The hope is that, after this year it will just grow and grow and grow.
"I've been coming to gigs in Newcastle for years and the atmosphere is always second to none. I was in the city for Girls Aloud last year to see Cheryl in tears on stage because of the huge support she had from the crowd and I've seen the same for other artists like Michael Bublé as well. Whenever I go yo a gig up here I like to walk to the arena in amongst everyone to take it all in.
He added: "It shocks me that there hasn't been an absolutely massive festival in Newcastle before and we've hit the jackpot with the Moor, as it gives us the capacity to attract the biggest acts in the world. Everyone knows the Moor and it's really easy to get to from the city centre; people don't need to worry about having to travel a great distance to get there or worry about getting stuck in traffic."
