Comedian Chris McCausland was left telling his Strictly dance partner, Dianne Buswell, to "just press stop" as she recorded a video diary of the pair which was shared to her Instagram this week.

The partnership was officially announced on the Strictly launch show on BBC One on Saturday, September 14, with Dianne posting on social media afterwards that she "couldn't be happier", and writing: "My abs are already more defined from a solid week of laughter."

The Australian dancer, who has twice made it to the final of the competition, has this week been sharing daily video diaries of herself and Chris as they take breaks from training, and chat about their dancing progress as well as general topics of conversation between the pair.

However, their first video diary, shared on Monday, came to somewhat of an abrupt end as funny man Chris, 47, sighed and told Dianne: "I think... press stop. Just press stop."

His bemused reaction came after Dianne, 35, had been discussing future baby names with her dance partner, and had revealed she wanted to call her daughter 'Americas'.

There was a stunned silence from Chris, as Dianne asked: "Do you not like that name?" when he told her to stop recording. However, Dianne was laughing as she answered, "Okay, I'm pressing stop", before ending the video.

Thankfully, Chris' response seems to be very in keeping with his dry sense of humour, as he and Dianne already appear to be having lots of fun together.

Elsewhere in the video diary posted on Monday, she asked him to guess how many ear piercings she had in total, and invited him to feel the piercings in each of her ears.

Chris joked: "How did you ever get so many followers with this kind of content? This is real bottom of the barrel stuff, isn't it? What's the next episode, guess how many toes I've got?"

And in the pair's latest video diary, shared on Instagram on Tuesday, Chris teased Dianne about the stubby shape of one of her thumbs, which she calls her "toe thumb".

As he had a feel of her thumb, Chris exclaimed: "It's like it gave up growing! You could get a Blue badge for that, like a disability parking badge. You can't push your trolley back to the car properly with your little thumbs."

Dianne cackled and called Chris a "p*****", explaining that the term was Australian slang for someone who was really funny. And Chris responded: "Oh, you're a bit of a p***** yourself then. You p**** little Aussie."

Chris and Dianne will take to the dance floor together for the first time this Saturday night on Strictly Come Dancing, airing from 7pm on BBC One.
