'Is That a Comet?': Bermuda Man Baffled by SpaceX Rocket

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 Dragon launch was spotted in the skies over Bermuda on July 14, sending one baffled resident speculating on what the late-night streak of light might be.

Footage recorded by Christian Oatley on St George’s Island shows a bright light streaking across the sky. Oatley can be heard wondering about what the light source is, asking: “Is it a comet?”

Other social media users also posted pictures and videos of the launch, with one user saying it looked “intense”.

SpaceX said on its website that the Falcon 9 Dragon had launched from the Kennedy Space Center at 8:44 pm Eastern time and was expected to dock with the International Space Station on Saturday, July 16.
