Comic Con Liverpool announcement leaves fans 'absolutely gutted'
Comic Con Liverpool has confirmed actor Jensen Ackles will no longer appear at the Liverpool event. Jensen is best known for playing Dean Winchester for over a decade in the TV series Supernatural, and most recently started in the Amazon Prime series The Boys as Soldier Boy.
Comic Con Liverpool returns to the Exhibition Centre from Saturday, November 9, until Sunday, November 10. The annual convention sees fans come together to celebrate their favourite stars from the world of comic books, film, television and pop culture, to name a few.
Organisers of the event said Jensen's cancellation was due to a "scheduling conflict." The actor's agent has confirmed he will attend two future events which are currently undisclosed.

In a statement, organisers said: "Sadly due to a scheduling conflict Jensen Ackles is now unable to attend either Comic Con Scotland or Comic Con Liverpool. Our ticketing company will be in touch regarding refunds on all solo autos/photos and the options for anyone who purchased him in a duo or as part of a group.
"Jensen's agent has confirmed that he will look to attend two future Monopoly Event shows as replacements for these cancellations when his schedule permits and he is looking forward to seeing his fans in the UK as soon as possible. We share everyone’s disappointment and there will be big announcements on the Scotland and Liverpool events very soon."
Comic-Con fans are upset with the news, including Amber St Pierre who said: "It’s a shame, but I completely get it. Jensen is incredibly busy at the moment and he would never cancel without good reason. If it means he’s going to be on our screens more then there’s no complaints here."

Maria Pemberton said: "Absolutely gutted! I hope he reschedules for Liverpool next year. First time me and my partner wanted to come to a comic con to see jensen and unfortunately he has had to cancel."
Ben Mason said: "Jensen would never cancel without good reason. These things happen." Hayley Price said: "Gutted for everyone who wanted to meet him. Sadly this can happen to anyone at any time. Hope everyone gets the chance to meet him in the future."
Comic Con organisers confirmed the event is non-refundable unless cancelled and no refunds will be made because of a guest cancelling. However, refunds will be made specifically for guests who bought meet-and-greet experiences. The Supernatural group photo opportunity will also continue as planned.
