'Commander Bond': Daniel Craig Given Honorary Royal Navy Rank

The Royal Navy said on September 23 that Daniel Craig had been appointed an honorary commander, matching his on-screen rank as James Bond.

Honorary officers “contribute in their own distinct way to strengthen the navy’s ties with the communities it serves,” the Royal Navy said.

Daniel Craig said: “I am truly privileged and honoured to be appointed the rank of Honorary Commander in the senior service.”

The announcement came ahead of the long-delayed release of No Time To Die, scheduled for September 30.
