Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem Name Their Daughter…

Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem's little girl must be outta this world!

The Spanish lovebirds, who welcomed their first daughter on July 22, have reportedly given her a celestial baby name. Bardem, 44, visited a registrar office in Madrid to officially list the baby's name as Luna Encinas Cruz, according to Spanish magazine Vanitatis.

Luna, which is of Latin origin, means "moon." The name has been soaring in popularity in recent years, especially in the United States, perhaps getting a boost from the quirky "Harry Potter" character Luna Lovegood. There are many other celeb moms who are fans of the name: Constance Marie named her daughter Luna in 2009 while Ellen Pompeo and Joely Fisher selected it as a middle name for their little ones. Uma Thurman, who memorably gave her new addition the longest name ever (Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson), calls the girl Luna for short.

As for the name Encinas, it's a family name on Bardem's side.

Cruz, 39, and Bardem, who also have a two-year-old son Leo, are notoriously tight-lipped when it comes to their private life. They have not yet confirmed the arrival of their daughter, nor have their reps responded to omg!'s inquiry into the baby name.
