Community star Gillian Jacobs is hopeful that the show's movie will finally happen.

Excitement has been building within fandom ever since it was announced that Donald Glover will reunite with his castmates for the first time since Community ended.

The Community cast are taking part in a script reading of season five's 'Cooperative Polygraphy' on Monday, May 18 at 2pm PT (10pm BST) to benefit José Andrés' World Central Kitchen and Frontline Foods, for COVID-19 relief.

Entertainment Weekly has since asked Britta actress Gillian Jacobs about the likelihood of the movie at this stage, and surprisingly, she didn't 'Britta the answer' with bad news!

"I think we're all down for it," she said. "It just requires a script and a budget. So, I think if there was a movie, we would all do it. I don't want to speak for everyone. I would do the movie, absolutely."

She added: "I feel very lucky to have gotten that pilot. I mean, I get so sentimental when I talk about this stuff because, for all of us, this could've gone a different way. I could have not gotten the part. I think it was a real special combination of people and time."

Several of her castmates seem willing as well – Alison Brie (aka Annie Edison) has said she is "down" to make the movie too, while Ken Jeong (aka Professor Ben Chang) insists he will "always hold out hope".

The ball might be in Donald Glover's court. Joel McHale previously insisted that Glover's character Troy was pivotal for any film moving forward.

"Getting Donald [Glover] would be very hard at this point unless we had $10 million lying around for him to appear. Donald, $10 million good for one day? We kind of need him," he admitted to Indiewire.

"It would be great to do, I'd do it in a New York minute."

Community is currently available to stream on Netflix.
