Community star gives disappointing update on long-awaited movie
Community star Joel McHale has given a disappointing update on the upcoming reunion movie.
Late last year, streaming service Peacock confirmed that the stars would be reuniting for a long-awaited movie. However, the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) strikes could mean that fans will be waiting a little while longer to see their favourites back together on screen.
While speaking to Collider, the actor was questioned about how production was going on Community: The Movie and whether or not the strike would impact the filming schedule.
"I'm not exactly sure, but I'm guessing it's not going to start on time," McHale replied, confirming his support for those on strike.

"I don’t say this lightly, but I stand with the WGA, and there’s no doubt that pay has gone down 23% since 2007, and that needs to change," he added.
Earlier this week (May 2) the WGA began its first strike in over 15 years, following disputes over pay, with the guild advocating for better pay for its writers.
"Driven in large part by the shift to streaming, writers are finding their work devalued in every part of the business," the WGA confirmed in a statement (via Deadline).
"The companies have used the transition to streaming to cut writer pay and separate writing from production, worsening working conditions for series writers at all levels."

Meanwhile, McHale's co-stars Alison Brie and Danny Pudi previously provided an exciting update about the film, revealing that the team were "super excited" to begin work.
"Everyone is super excited, we’re just really really pumped," Pudi said (via Variety).
Community is available to stream via Netflix in the UK, and Netflix and Hulu in the US.
