Commuters Drive Through Snow 'Tunnel' in Newfoundland

Commuters in St John’s, Newfoundland, were confronted with a snow “tunnel” while driving through the city on January 21.

Local woman Holly Ivany-Ryan captured this video of the bizarre journey commuters undertook through walls of snow, following a record-breaking blizzard in the region. Referring to the dense snow as “snowmageddon,” Ivany-Ryan posted her footage to Twitter.

A state of emergency was lifted in St John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador on January 24, after the blizzard had buried some areas under 76 centimeters of snow the previous week.
