Marianne Elliott’s production of Company has extended its West End run into next year, following an absolutely storming opening night.

Stephen Sondheim and Michael Furst’s musical, which opened last night (October 17) at the Gielgud Theatre to a number of five star reviews, will now play until March 30, with another 100,000 tickets being released.

Rosalie Craig is starring as Bobbie, the first time this role has been played by a woman, alongside Broadway legend Patti LuPone. Mel Giedroyc, Jonathan Bailey, Alex Gaumond and Richard Fleeshman are also among the cast.

The Standard’s Henry Hitchings gave the show five stars, saying: “Even as it pops with vitality and dazzles with its wit, this is a take on Company that savours Sondheim’s subtleties. In short, it’s glorious.”

The highly anticipated show is the second production from Elliott’s company Elliott & Harper, which she founded with producer Chris Harper.

Company now runs at the Gielgud Theatre until March 30.
