Concerns have been raised over the future of a high street retailer with a store in Stirling as it looks set to call in administrators.

Scots fashion chain Quiz, which has a store at Stirling’s Thistle Centre, looks set to call in administrators, which has raised fears over the fate of its 1,500 employees and 60 stores, as well as dozens more concessions and franchises.

Quiz, which reportedly faces a barrage of cost rises, also has a store at Falkirk’s Howgate Centre.

The dress retailer has been a familiar name in the UK fashion industry for more than 30 years since its first branch in Glasgow. It grew quickly in Scotland and now has large shops in major cities, including Cardiff, Liverpool and Manchester.

In 2017, it was valued at £245million, reports claim. However, it hit difficulty in June 2020 – during the COVID-19 pandemic – and a small number of jobs were cut when stores closed.
