Concerns raised after man seen 'shouting' at woman in Leamington Spa

Police are appealing to find a man and a woman who were seen 'arguing' in Leamington Spa. It happened in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, November 24).

Officers investigating the incident said the man is believed to have shouted at the woman near Chandos Street. He was heard telling her to get in a black SUV-type car, which then left in the direction of Warwick Street.

Concerns have been raised for the welfare of the two people involved. Both may have been out in the town centre on Saturday (November 23) evening, possibly going to a nearby nightclub before heading to Chandos Street Car Park.

Officers described the woman as white, of slim build, with dark hair and wearing dark clothing. It is believed the man is of slim build, taller than the woman, with short dark hair, and was wearing a white top and dark trousers at the time of the incident, which happened at around 1am.

Police said the incident was reported by a third-party witness, but they been unable to identify the man and woman involved. Witnesses have been urged to get in touch by calling 101 or can provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “Were you in Leamington in the early hours of this morning? Did you see a man and a woman having a verbal dispute near Chandos Street Car Park at around 1am?

“Enquiries are ongoing, but we are keen for the man and woman to make contact so we can check on their welfare. Equally, if you were in the area or witnessed the dispute and can help with our investigation, please get in touch. Anyone with information can provide it online, quoting incident number 15 of November 24.”
