A seething woman has blasted her neighbour after making a horrifying discovery.

It can be difficult to stay pally with your neighbours at all times. Perhaps they wake you up in the middle of the night after deciding to have a rave on a random Tuesday at 3am, or have a dog that never stops barking.

But for Ellie, her neighbourly frustration is much more serious than that. Taking to Mumsnet in a fiery rant, she explained that she had been away for the weekend and left her car parked in her driveway - but when she returned home it was covered in 'filth'.

"Came back early this week and noticed mud loads of muck and grass outside their house (they don't own a car so that space is empty and mine is directly beside theirs) and mud all over their fence from what looks like brushing/spraying from cleaning the footpath and their garden," the post reads. "The mud was sprayed all over my car bonnet and windscreen - it was absolutely filthy."

However, when Ellie confronted her neighbours - she claimed they just laughed and argued it will 'wash off' in the rain. "In fact, the rain did not 'wash it off' and I spent £15 having to get the car cleaned," she added. "I am furious. If I did this I would at least offer to pay for the car wash and not laugh off spraying dirt on someone's car."

More than 100 users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the ordeal, with many siding with Ellie and branding the neighbour 'thoughtless'. "It's not on," one person raged. "If my neighbour gets mud on my car when he's checking his drive then he always hoses it off."

Another agreed, scathing: "I'd be p****d off as well. Mud has prob got grit and other crap in it that could scratch the paintwork," while a third added: "I'd be fuming too. She could have put a note through the door and/or hired the mud off your car."

However, many argued Ellie was 'overreacting' by getting her car professionally cleaned - and slammed her for being 'irrational'. "Furious? Livid? Over mud? Seems like a massive overreaction," one person wrote. Another said: "I think you need to learn to relax. It's no big deal."
