Conor Gallagher receives first England call-up: Chelsea loanee rewarded for fine form with Crystal Palace
Conor Gallagher has been called up to the England squad for the first time.
The Crystal Palace midfielder, who is on loan from Chelsea, has been drafted in by Gareth Southgate after Jordan Henderson, Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, Mason Mount and Luke Shaw withdrew from the squad.
Gallagher has enjoyed a fine start to the season with Palace and could be rewarded with his first England cap in Monday’s final World Cup qualifier against San Marino.
The 21-year-old had been part of the England Under-21 squad but the FA have confirmed he has been promoted to the senior squad.

Henderson and Grealish have returned to Liverpool and Manchester City for further assessment on injuries.
Sterling will miss the San Marino game due to a personal matter.
Mount and Shaw will not join up with the squad. Mount will stay with Chelsea after having wisdom teeth out and Shaw is still recovering from concussion.
