Conservative activist hospitalised after suspected attack

A Conservative activist has been hospitalised after being attacked with a liquid while campaigning outside High Barnet Tube station in London on Wednesday afternoon.

The campaigner, who is understood to be a female volunteer, has been taken to Barnet hospital.

A Conservative source said the liquid was understood to be perfume.

The Tory volunteer was campaigning to re-elect Theresa Villiers, the Environment Secretary.
