An “out-of-control” wildfire burning north of Lillooet, British Columbia, grew to 12,355 acres on June 29, according to fire authorities.
The British Columbia Wildfire Service said the McKay Creek fire displayed aggressive fire behaviour and rapid growth due to the “hot and dry weather” on Tuesday evening. Authorities issued evacuations locally.
