Cook And Pietersen Claim Historic Centuries

Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen both claimed record-equalling 22nd Test centuries on day three of the second Test against India.

Cook (122) and Pietersen (138no) have both drawn level with Wally Hammond, Geoff Boycott and Colin Cowdrey as their country's most prolific centurions.

Cook's second successive hundred against India and Pietersen's first since his 'reintegration' into the England side put the visitors on course for a first-innings lead in Mumbai.

Cook was out caught behind from Ravi Ashwin's bowling and Jonny Bairstow (9) went to Pragyan Ojha just before the interval.

By lunch on day three England were 298-4 in reply to India's 327 all out.
