Five people have been arrested after police discovered a number of stolen vehicles in two sites.

Last week, Lancashire Police warned residents over organised car thieves targeting Land Rovers and Range Rovers in the county. On Sunday, September 28 with the help of two members of the public, who updated the police with GPS device locations of their stolen vehicles, two sites were discovered.

These sites contained stolen cars that were being dismantled. One was at Plumpton Grange in Preston, and the other at Bambers Lane North in Blackpool.

Two men aged 26 and 36, as well as three women aged 25, 31 and 57 were arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicles and handling stolen goods. They have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police call the find "an example of the police and public working together to help make communities safer".
