A dispersal order is in place in Preston city centre following concerns about anti-social behaviour.

Lancashire Police have confirmed they will be acting to prevent disorder in the area bordered by Fishergate, Corporation Street, Walker Street, Stanley Street and Queen Street.

The area has been highlighted on a map and gives officers powers to direct people to leave the area and not return for 48 hours.

A police spokesperson said: "We are doing everything in our power to stop any anti-social behaviour from happening and to keep you safe. With that in mind, a dispersal order, under S.34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act has been put in place until 1am tomorrow morning (Oct 26). We appreciate your help and co-operation."
