Cops launch probe after Range Rover torched in Scots town

Cops have launched a probe after a Range Rover was torched in a Scots town.

The plush vehicle was targeted at around 1.40am on Friday on Eradour Place in Kilmarnock.

Emergency services raced to the scene, to extinguish the inferno and there were no reports of injuries.

The incident is being treated as wilful and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Officers are keen to trace a male who was seen acting suspiciously at the time. He is described as wearing dark clothing and reflective trainers.

Detective Constable John Cuthbert said: "The fire was set alight while the vehicle was parked within the driveway of a house and caused considerable alarm to the householder. I would urge anyone with information about what happened to speak to officers.

"If you were in the Eradour Place area at the time and saw anything suspicious or have CCTV or dashcam footage which may have captured something of significance then please contact us."
