Cordon erected at Teesside Park as police inspect item left on bench outside Primark
Police were called to Teesside Park after staff spotted an abandoned item on one of the seats.
A large cordon was put in place around the area, near to Primark and Superdrug, after the item, an electrical device, was spotted on a bench outside the shops, sometime after 11am on Monday. Meanwhile, a witness said that Primark staff looked out of the top floor window, unable to leave the store.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police, said: "Officers attended Teesside Park after receiving a call from security staff about an item which had been left on a bench.
"The item was found to be a speaker which was not connected to anything. It has been removed and booked into the police property store for safekeeping."
