Cornish pasty giving the former 'best' a run for its money
A Cornish pasty is making quite a name for itself and has got people travelling far and wide to get in on the action. Starting as just a small-town pasty sold in a local butcher shop, it's now being called "the best" and has had to get its own branding.
Now called Adam's Pasties, the Cornish delights were originally sold only out of Liddicoat Butchers in Lostwithiel and have been called "a treasure". People enjoy them so much that they are adamant the offering is better than the legendary Gear Farm pasties, widely purported to be the best of the best.
The bundles of meaty, vegetable, and pastry goodness regularly receive ratings of nine and ten in the 'RATE MY PASTY' group. Among its 37,000 and counting members posts praising the Adam's Pasty are regularly shared.

"Our pasties are meticulously handcrafted using our signature pastry and locally sourced, premium ingredients. Each pasty is truly a treasure. Savour the authentic flavours of Cornwall, delivered straight to your doorstep across the majority of mainland UK."

Adam's passion for crafting pasties was sparked during his younger years working alongside his father at the butcher's. He was just aged ten when he began peeling swedes, potatoes, and onions, laying the foundation for his future expertise.
"Through years of dedication, Adam mastered the art of handcrafting the quintessential Cornish pasty to perfection," the website adds. "Originally available at Liddicoat Butchers, both hot and frozen for home baking, Adam's pasties garnered a loyal following, drawing customers from near and far."
Responding to the soaring demand, the pasties were soon given their own name and branding and Adam has now expanded his reach by offering his delectable creations online.
Among some of its glowing reviews, Lee Pascoe says: "After seeing multiple posts about this pasty on here we had to go and visit and it didn’t disappoint, could smell the pasty’s from the top of the road. Cooked to perfection, will definitely be back."
Mark Harding said: "First tasted these pasties when we bought some from Liddicoat Butchers in Lostwithiel. Beautiful pasties, lovely crisp pastry, plenty of meat and nicely peppered."
A TripAdvisor review adds: "Adam (I believe the owner) makes the best Cornish pasties from meat that he butchers himself. The mix of the well-diced swede and spuds, with the spicing and the steak, are second to none.
"I've been coming to Cornwall since I was born and this was, literally (and I do mean that) the best pasty I have ever eaten."
