A Conservative candidate in Cornwall has spoken out after vandals defaced his election posters. Scott Mann, who is seeking re-election in North Cornwall, said he will report anyone caught damaging his posters.

A poster was vandalised on private land along the A39 near the Royal Cornwall Showground. Other posters have been stolen and defaced in Washaway and Padstow.

Scott Mann said: "Volunteers across all the parties work very hard during the election and it's not nice when they have to go and collect or repair signs and posters that have been smashed up and defaced.

"We live in a democracy and it's important to respect differing political views. I have wildlife cameras on some of my poster sites and will report anybody who can be identified.

"It's a shame I have to say this but, please don't smash my signs up, or those of other candidates. Thank you."
