Cornwall has UK's best family and glamping campsites

A Cornwall campsite named the best family-friendly site in the UK. The winners of the 2024 Campsites.co.uk Camping and Glamping Awards have been announced.

The awards were created to highlight some of the best camping, glamping and touring sites the UK has to offer, with 10 Cornwall sites picking up 15 awards. Bude's Wooda Farm Holiday Park took home the national winner of the Best Family Campsite in the UK and Best Family Campsite the South West, claiming the title two years in a row.

"From the farm animals, tractor rides and alpacas, to the various trails, sports and activities, Wooda Farm Holiday Park is packed with fun for all the family, making it a worthy winner," according to those behind the awards at Campsites.co.uk.

The site has gained an impressive 4.84 star rating on their travel listing, with 98 per cent saying they would recommend the site. Guests continue to leave huge praise with comments including "Shower facilities are unbelievable, the best I have visited, it's like you are in a hotel” and “Been camping for many years and Wooda is the nicest site by far”.

East Thorne in Bude also received the Best Glamping Site in the UK and Best Glamping Site in the South West, making the town a huge winner in this year's awards.

The annual Campsites.co.uk Camping and Glamping awards highlight the best camping, glamping, and touring sites across the UK, celebrating those sites that go above and beyond for their guests throughout the year. The awards cover various categories, including ‘Best Campsite’, ‘Best Glamping Site’, and ‘Most Unique Site’. Other titles include the ‘Greener Site Award’, ‘Best Newcomer', and 'Best Budget Friendly Campsite'.

Meanwhile the AA Holiday Park of the Year went to Trevornick Hollywell Bay, Cornwall. Award inspectors were particularly impressed with Trevornick's entertainment offering, including a children's club and an evening cabaret.

They said: "Trevornick is a large seaside holiday complex with excellent facilities and amenities, including a pool complex with extra spa room, sun lounge area, children's splash pool and eating venues."

The AA Caravan and Camping Awards celebrate the UK's best campsites and caravan parks every year. The sites are selected by inspectors for their outstanding overall quality and high levels of customer care.
