Camilla has had a turbulent journey from the margins of the Royal Family to being right at its centre as Queen Consort.

She will be crowned alongside King Charles III at the coronation ceremony on 6 May, securing her place in the history of the British monarchy.

Her transformation from Charles's mistress to wife and finally to Queen has seen her gradually win over the public.

Camilla didn't have the smoothest of starts to her involvement with the Royal Family, as she was vilified over her affair with Charles when he was married to Princess Diana.

This family drama reared its head once again when the popular Netflix drama The Crown depicted the breakdown of Charles and Diana's marriage.

Camilla also reportedly felt "hurt" after being labelled a "villain" and a "wicked stepmother" in Prince Harry's explosive memoir, Spare.

Recent polling suggests there is still work to be done in Camilla's mission to boost her public perception, but support has still grown significantly since she married Charles in 2005.

"Charles has made it clear in the last few years, what he’s doing, he couldn’t possibly have done without her," said Majesty Magazine editor Joe Little.

“So, I think people have been left in no doubt that she is invaluable to him in the same way Philip was to the Queen.”
