Coronation Street to air sad scenes as Todd is replaced in George story

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street airs sad scenes for Todd Grimshaw and George Shuttleworth next week, as their work partnership looks no closer to being restored.

The pair were once a dream team at the funeral parlour, but Todd jumped ship to rival firm RestEasy when he began to feel undervalued by George.

Next week, it becomes increasingly clear that the new arrangement isn't working out for either Todd or George, but they're too stubborn to admit it.

Todd finds himself becoming increasingly frustrated by the murkier side of working with RestEasy, which takes a more ruthless approach to the funeral business than Shuttleworth's does.

George, meanwhile, secretly regrets taking Todd for granted as he has found it difficult to find a suitable replacement since he left.

As Todd gets ready for work one morning, George fuels their ongoing tensions by making cutting remarks about RestEasy.

Todd realises that George might be right, as his boss Troy reveals that he has promised a client a service that the firm can't deliver.

Troy orders Todd to break the bad news, leaving him annoyed that he's expected to do the dirty work.

Later in the week, Todd chooses Mary Taylor as a confidante, admitting that life working for RestEasy isn't for him.

Mary advises Todd to talk to George about it, but when he rushes off to swallow his pride and ask for his job back, it doesn't go to plan.

A couple of days later, the situation gets worse as George realises that Todd's replacement Lee is simply not cut out for the job.

As George is reluctant to admit this, the saga looks likely to rumble on further. Will Todd ever reclaim his rightful position at Shuttleworth's?
