Coronation Street airs exit for Zeedan Nazir - but will he be back?

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Last week, viewers saw Zeedan's estranged wife Marrium return to the Street to confront Zeedan over the death of her villainous father Hashim.

After an intervention from Alya, Zeedan and Marrium shared a kiss. Alya was convinced the pair could make their marriage work, but due to Marrium living in London Zeedan remained unconvinced.

Sensing that Zeedan was only staying in Weatherfield to look after her following the stabbing incident, Ayla set about convincing her brother that she could look after herself. But he told Alya that he'd be sticking around on the cobbles whether she liked it or not.

But he soon had a change of heart, and in tonight's episode (February 20) we saw Zeedan saying goodbye to his family and setting off for London.

"You're tougher than me. I'm proud of you. You are one of the strongest people I know," Zeedan told Alya before he jumped into a taxi.

However, this won't be the last we see of Zeedan, as Coronation Street have confirmed Zeedan is still part of the cast and will appear in the future.

Following Zeedan's exit, despite not being down to work, Alya went to the solicitor's office to take her mind off things. But that plan didn't quite work out when she interrupted a meeting and came face-to-face with a client, Jayden, accused of stabbing someone.

Furious that Adam and Dee-Dee could attempt to defend such a client after what she'd been through, she locked herself in a room with Jayden and let rip about what it's like to be stabbed.

"You know, at first it just feels like a punch. It's like electricity, all tingly. And then an electric shock. I think that's when your nerves have realised that they've been severed," she said.

"After the electricity, that's the worst bit. The heat. Unbearable heat like you've never felt before. And that is when the real pain starts!" she shouted, as Jayden pleaded with her to stop.

Adam and Dee-Dee eventually managed to get the door open. After Jayden fled, Adam suggested Alya wasn't ready to come back to work yet.

"I just said goodbye to my brother, I was emotional," she said, in way of an apology.

Later, Alya unburdened on Ryan, which resulted in the pair sharing a passionate kiss. Will the former couple get back together?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
