Coronation Street has aired horror scenes for Audrey Roberts as she has become trapped in the barbershop.

This frightening cliffhanger aired during Wednesday's double bill (June 22), as her family questioned whether she has a drinking problem.

Rita Sullivan raised that same possibility when she found Audrey having a drink in the Rovers during the daytime, leading her to question whether it might be best for Audrey to get back to work.

Audrey reacted to the news by breaking out a bottle of wine with her family at the barber shop, as she awkwardly flirted with Ryan Connor.

When David tried to get Audrey to come back home, she tripped over a Thai elephant on the floor and nearly injured herself.

Audrey blamed Kelly Neelan for her near-tumble and promptly fired her — and then sacked David too when he tried to defend the teen.

Maria Connor was later alarmed to find a tipsy Audrey playing table football with Ryan. Maria tried to break things up, only to become the next victim of Audrey's firing spree.

It was up to Gail to try to talk to Audrey about her drinking, but Audrey would hear none of it and announced she was moving back home. Immediately.

Later, as the Platts gathered at the pub, they considered whether getting her son Stephen Reid involved could make a difference in helping Audrey with her drinking problem.

At the same time, Audrey was wandering around the barber shop at night. As she reached for her glasses, she fell backwards and was pinned under the motorcycle.

Will someone help Audrey?
