Coronation Street’s Carla to humiliate Joel in Lauren story

Coronation Street's Carla Connor is set to confront Joel Deering over his abuse of Lauren Bolton.

When his involvement in Lauren's disappearance was revealed, Joel's abusive actions finally came to light. Since then, his ex-fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey has been working with DS Swain and Lauren to bring Joel to justice.

Upcoming episodes will see fierce Carla take matters into her own hands, after finding out the truth about the villain.

During a meeting with a potential supplier at the Chariot Square Hotel, Carla spots Joel entering the room. When her meeting ends, angry Carla wastes no time confronting Joel and marches up to his table.

Carla loudly tells everyone in the room that Joel is the woman-beater who tried to murder Lauren.

With her announcement leaving him publicly humiliated, how will Joel react? Coronation Street airs these scenes on Friday, September 6.

Meanwhile, next week's episodes will see Carla grow closer to DS Lisa Swain, as they bond over Lisa's daughter Betsy.

Betsy tries to tell her mum about Mason's latest threats towards her, but Lisa gets distracted by a phone call.

Feeling frustrated by the lack of attention, Betsy storms off from the conversation with her mum. At the factory, she turns to Carla for some advice.

Carla plays mediator between the duo, first reassuring Betsy that her mum loves her, and asking her to ease off on Lisa.

Later, Carla and Lisa begin to bond as they discuss how to handle Betsy's behaviour. Is this the start of a powerful, new friendship?
