Coronation Street will provide an update on Clayton Hibbs after his recent hospital shock.
Earlier this week, David Platt read emails and letters from Clayton's prison which were addressed to Shona, but he decided to hide them and not tell his wife. Instead, he decided to secretly visit Clayton himself.
During the visit, Clayton revealed that he was really struggling, while David said that his mum wanted nothing to do with him. Shona was later informed that Clayton had been admitted to hospital as he had tried to take his own life.

In scenes set to air next week, Shona checks her junk mail and is surprised to see an email from Clayton's prison. Later, Shona tells David that Clayton has regained consciousness in hospital, but is refusing to see her. Upon hearing the news, David conceals his relief.
Speaking about the emotional storyline, Julia Goulding, who plays Shona, recently explained how "confused" her character feels to be shut out by Clayton after his suicide attempt.
"He screams at her to get out. She can't understand why and just wants to be with her son. At this point, she knows he has tried to take his own life but can't work out why and why she wasn't told," she said.

Goulding went on to share how there could be major repercussions for Shona and David's marriage if she finds out that he affected her access to her son. Clayton notably killed David's first wife Kylie in 2016.
"Jack [P Shepherd, who plays David] and I are very much on our own characters' sides in this," she revealed. "We've had barneys in the green room about who's right.
"When Shona finds out her husband has been gaslighting her and had a part in Clayton trying to take his own life, I dread to think what she's going to do. But I don't think she'll take it lying down."
"The sad thing is they've been so solid for so long, Shona is David's final crutch. But he's destroying it himself, in my opinion," Goulding added. "I really am Team Shona in this!"
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
